Paintings I experiment with different painting processes in search of what works best for me, and also learn how to achieve the effects I want for certain works. Shape blocking, black and white to color, flats first, translating lit 3D sculpts, experimenting with blending modes, collaging photo reference... From what I've learned painting to painting, I use a combination of approaches depending on what feeling I want to portray and how I want the result to look.
5 Minute Sketch Challenge Using random prompts and words I was given, I set five minutes to brainstorm and draw something as practice for storytelling and setting moods with loose drawings.
Work From Home Project My goal for this project was to make an image for an article about working from home. With the article's tone in mind, I sketched thumbnails and created rough value and color studies for the final piece. Using these sketches and studies to inform it, I went on and finished the illustration.
The 3D Head Sculpt & Using it for Paintings I sculpted a 3D head and horns in Blender for the purpose of aiding my painting process. I duplicated the head and lit it according to the lighting situation I wanted.
